Chapoutier Barbe Rac, Chateauneuf du Pape (France)”: Robert M. Parker, Jr., of The Wine Advocate/USA, says, “This is one of the two or three best wines I tasted in Chateauneuf du Pape. … Displaying a deep ruby color, a spicy, herbaceous-scented nose, and rich currant-y fruit, it possesses a more narrow flavor profile, medium-to-full body, and excellent concentration and ripeness. … Color … intense garnet, developing into ruby red. Nose is complex and subtle, blackcurrant plum, followed by roasted coffee, cinnamon, cherry, Morello cherry and licorice. … Characteristic of the grape varietal, a good presence of tannins, extremely delicate, ample, full bodies, pulpy, warm and round. Very long in the mouth. Donated by Mr. and Mrs. Steve Powers. “Magnum -- 1995 Crozes Hermitage, Domaine de Thalabert Paul Jaboulet Aine (France)”: From the very good 1995 vintage and scoring 87/100 Parker points, this red wine exhibits a dark ruby/purple color, followed by dense, sweet, herb-tinged, cassis aromas, ripe concentrated flavors, plenty of tannin, and excellent to outstanding density and richness. Plenty of sweet blackberry and plum character along with hints of vanilla, all cloaked in a shroud of ripe, mouth-coating tannins. A modern expression of Syrah that will develop well. (Wine Spectator) Drink now through 2012. Donated by Mr. and Mrs. Steve Powers. “Arcadian Winery Lot”: to be determined … Donated by Joe Davis, Arcadian Winery. Back To Top |
