Capturing a Sense of Place
A 3-day workshop
September 20-22, 2011
The workshop will be taught with a rotating selection of artists and will be a unique opportunity to learn from some of the finest plein air painters in the south as they address the challenge of painting a landscape in the moment. This exciting three-day workshop will feature some of the most well known plein air artists in the Southeast including Dee Beard Dean, Richard Oversmith, Diane Cruickshanks May, and Paula Frizbe among others. The Plein Air Painters of the Southeast (PAP-SE) attempts to foster an understanding and appreciation of plein air painting.
The workshop is $305 for Museum Members and $355 for non-members. The fee includes plein air sessions in three beautiful locations – Monte Sano State Park, The Huntsville Botanical Gardens and the Twickenham/Old Town Historic Districts – as well as a lecture by a PAP-SE artist.
