Betty C. Monkman served more than 30 years in the Office of the Curator, The White House, retiring as Chief Curator in 2002. She is the author with Bruce M. White of The White House: Its Historic Furnishings and First Families and Treasures of the White House. She is also a contributor to White House History, the award-winning journal of the White House Historical Association.
