Internships

Gain Experience at the Huntsville Museum of Art!

The Museum offers several types of internships: Public Relations, Special Events, and Membership. These internships are offered during the school year coinciding with the semester system. Internships are ideal for those students who require internship or practicum credits, but students need not receive credit if they do not wish to do so.

The Museum encourages candidates from diverse backgrounds and academic disciplines to apply. No stipends are available.

Types of Internships:

Public Relations

A Public Relations intern position requires a minimum commitment of two days per week. Duties would include, but may not be limited to, writing press releases, general filing, posting on social media sites, updating community calendar listings, and following up with media outlets regarding publicity opportunities. Candidate should possess strong writing, speaking, and organizational skills. Reports to the Museum Communications Manager.

Special Events (Gala)

Gala interns require a minimum commitment of 3 days per week and are unpaid. Duties include accounting, customer service, reservations, data entry, and spreadsheet creation and maintenance.

Membership

Membership interns require a minimum commitment of 2 days a week. Duties would include general filing, grants research and co-writing, and data entry.

Individuals interested in internships should send a cover letter and resume to info@hsvmuseum.org. No calls, please.
