Watercolor Impressions: Color Pouring & Blending

In this workshop, students learn basic techniques such as composition and coloring, as well as Lian’s techniques including the “Color Pouring and Blending.” Lian gives 4-6 short demonstrations each day with student practices between that allow students to learn better. Also, there are critique sessions when Lian helps students by touching up their paintings. Skill Level: Open to all level students

Three-Day Workshop fee is $280 members/$295 non-members. A confirmation letter and supply list will be sent upon receipt of workshop registration fee payment. Pre-registration is required. Workshop will be held in the Museum Academy classrooms at the Huntsville Museum of Art at Big Spring International Park.

Lian Quan Zhen was a physician in China until 1995 when he immigrated to the U.S. He received a B.A. from University of California/Berkeley in 1992 and a M.A. in Architecture from M.I.T. in 1996. He has had many one-man shows and has works in numerous institutional and private collections. Lian has been teaching Chinese and watercolor painting since 1994 across the U.S., Canada, Mexico and China. Watercolor 94 Spring, Splash 4, The Splendor of Light, Collectors, and Landscape in Watercolor have featured his work. Please note:  A $10 fee will be charged for canceling registration; the balance will be refunded. However, there will be no refunds given for cancellations after August 2, 2012. The Museum reserves the right to cancel classes which do not meet minimum enrollment requirements. This minimum enrollment is determined on an individual class basis. In case of cancellation by the Museum, the advance payment will be refunded to you. The Huntsville Museum of Art assumes no liability for non-refundable airline tickets that cannot be used due to any classes or workshops being cancelled or schedule changes.
